Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5: New Features
Change in Appearance : The past generations of Folds and Flips came with a clamshell design, resulting in a noticeable gap between their display halves, which led to the accumulation of dust and damaged the screen. Samsung solved that with the Z Flip 5 and Z Fold 5, making them gapless when closed completely.
Upgraded Display : Although the Galaxy Z Fold 5 retains a similar appearance to its predecessor, with the same 7.6-inch main screen, and a 6.2-inch cover screen on the exterior, the Z Flip 5 now comes with an expanded 3.4-inch cover screen called the Flex Window, compared to its predecessor’s 1.9-inch screen.
New Processor With Increased Base Storage : The Galaxy Flip 5 and Fold 5 are powered by the top-of-the-line Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy chip in the Galaxy S23 series. Apart from that, the base storage is now 256GB, compared to the 128GB of its predecessors.
Price : In the US market, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 starts at $1,799, while the Galaxy Z Flip 5 starts at $999.
Color Options : The Galaxy Z Fold 5 comes in various colors, including Icy Blue, Phantom Black, Cream, and exclusive colors. There’s also the Gray and Blue, available only on Samsung’s official website. As for the Z Flip 5, it’s available in Graphite, Lavender, Cream, and Mint. The color options Gray, Blue, Green, and Yellow are exclusive to the official Samsung website.

1. Is Samsung Z Fold 4 at a low price now? Yes. You can get the Galaxy Z Fold 4 at a much more affordable price following the launch of Fold 5. Make sure to wait until some sale days to get some special discounts on these products.
2. Is the Z Flip 5 waterproof? No. The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 isn’t fully waterproof. It only comes with IPX8 certification , which signifies water resistance. Samsung has conducted tests where the Z Flip 5 was submerged in 1.5 meters of fresh water for 30 minutes and emerged without any issues.
3. Does the Fold 5 come with a pen? No. The Galaxy Z Fold 5 does not come with an S Pen. However, it has support for S Pen Fold Edition, which is sold separately.
